Dhan Nirankar Ji,

Dearest saints, recently some thoughts where going through dasi's mind and I wish to share them with you.

Whenever we make a mistake there are two phases that we go through.  First there is the phase where our mind and soul is telling us that no, we should not make this mistake it is wrong.  In that phase we have stopped our-selves.  However in the second phase we find ourselves making that mistake and then repenting.  Saints, while thinking of this dasi realized that there is a turning point between both phases where maya or the wrong thoughts we have win and the voice of the soul is ignored.  We do not even realize when we crossed that turning point and commit the mistake.  If we continously remember this Nirankar and the teachings of satguru, we stay in the first phase and do not cross that turning point.

Let us consider, why do we even make those mistakes in the first place? We go to sangat, we have been taught by Satguru what is correct and what is not.  We know the rules of life, yet still we make mistakes.  After thinking for sometime, what dasi thought is that the reason we make mistakes is that we are afraid of society.  We don't want anyone to raise questions about us, we want to please everyone, we want to be the "coolest".  Today's society is very much biased and has forgotten the true teachings of Satguru.  Society reads scriptures and holy books, but only for reading, hardly anyone ever applys the thoughts and knowledge in those books.  Satguru has taught us that we are all one, all are from this super-soul. Yet we forget all that and make our mistakes while living in society.  In Bhagwat Geeta, Shri Krishna Maharaj Ji says that you live in this world, not that the world lives in you.  In other words, we live in this society we can control our actions and by doing so eventually bring change to society.  However if we let society control us, then we are not doing any good and are simply increasing the negativity.

Saints this same society which influences us so much also observes us.  Whenever we commit the mistakes society wonders that they attend Nirankari satsangs, they say they have divine knowledge, so what did they learn from there? They are just like us.  So saints, the best prachaar of this mission is to first bring change into ourselves.  A question raised upon Baba Ji's gurusikh is a question raised on Baba Ji.  Baba Ji does so much for us, isn't it time we do something for Him?

In Bhagwat Geeta, Shri Krishna Maharaj Ji says that our 'maan' is greater (shresht) than senses, our mind is greater than our 'maan' and our soul (atma) is greater than our mind.  In other words, the soul is the highest and gives us the clearest concious and always provides us with correct guidance.  Our soul knows what is true and what is not and what it needs.

Saints now if we think, that who's voice is loudest when we go through life, who do we hear more? In actuality it goes in reverse order, we can barely hear what our soul is telling us and loudly hear what our senses and 'maan' wants us to do.  We hear our 'maan' and do what we please, but rarely do we hear the soft words of our soul telling us what is correct.  That is why sometimes those who do not take this divine knowledge and run from it are not hearing the "soft shouts" of the soul.

This change we have to bring in ourselves should start from our own home.  It is as simple as giving respect to each other.  Dasi is reminded of the story that poojya Daar ji had told about Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj that how Baba ji would put "ji" after everything.  "Please give me that paper ji," or "chai ka cup ji".  Baba ji told that this "ji"is to teach us to give respect to all.  Saints  when we say "Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj ki Jai" we forget to put the "ji" after Baba Ji's name.  Even once dasi heard that questions were raised that is it correct or not to put the "ji" after Baba Ji's name.  Saints, when we cannot respect our Satguru how will we respect others? We forget that Baba ji's saints are same to Baba ji and lose the respect.  Whenever we have a problem we stand in the namaskar line for hours and ask Baba ji Himself and tell him of our troubles.  Imagine if we had to call Baba ji and ask him, that "Baba ji should we put the "ji" after your name or not?".  We must change ourselves, in our homes we do not even call our children or other family members with that respect, so we should start there.

Dear saints all that dasi has written here is not pointing to anyone but rather dasi is simply describing her own mistakes.  I realize I do these mistakes day to day and seek your blessings that I may change.  Dasi humbly apologizes at your lotus feet if anything that I have written is wrong or has hurt anyone in anyway.  Dasi also apologizes for the lengthly email, however, these are just a few thoughts that were going through dasi's mind in the past few days.  Dasi wished to share them with you all and seek your blessings.

Humble and sadar pranam in your holy feet,

Dasi Brahama
