Re: [Divine Souls:4302] 62nd Sant Samagam - Lesson learnt

Dear Saints

The experience of attending this year's samagam was indeed unforgettable and as always the feeling and excitement of such a heavenly experience cannot be described in words as everything in world looked so small in front of the company of sadh sangath & presence of his holiness. The mere glimpse of the trimurti left saints wanting for more of there presence. The saints in samagam truly epitomise the message of our mission (Universal Brotherhood) and exude such positive aura that one doesn't feel like leaving that place. Everyone was smiling and truly immersed in this holy union and after seeing such immense dedication & devotion of all the saints, I pray to babaji to bestow his blessings on all of us and guide us to walk on the path shown by him in order to become sache gursikh.

Re: [Divine Souls:4300] 62nd Sant Samagam - Lesson learnt

Dear All,

Well! First of all I would request Vijay ji not to feel unfortunate as Babaji has accepted the samagam of all those how made it and also who couldn't. Saints are never unhappy! They seek happiness in all they experience.

I had an opportunity to attend the 62nd Annual Samagam, I had a very different feel this time.. I have attended many samagam's since my childhood but this time it was very different.. as if there is soooooo much more HH is demanding from Me. I felt it different, dont know if anyone else did or not.

Huge lines (Q's) for namaskar and langer - Patience these lovely devotees had was unremarkable.

They lived in tents with rain and cold but never complaint. Babaji was passing through the grounds at 3 am to see how his devotees are managing while its raining.. devotees would see HH and sing Ruh Gad Gad Ho Gayi Hain Datya Darshan Kerke Tere, there saints where standing in water with their kids and luggage on their shoulders yet singing. One saint even yelled "Babaji tusi tension na lo, asi theek haa" (Babaji dont worry we are all fine)... this was mentioned by HH in his vichar. This is true devotion.

HH loves such saints. Saints never feel unhappy, they dont get effected with the outside environment or atmosphere, saint is a definition of your internal state. Jaisi bhi ho paristhithi ek si ho mano sthithi. THESE DEVOTEES POTRAYED AN EXAMPLE FOR ALL OF US!

I was sitting near the namaskar lines and saw sooo many emotions, prayers and thanks giving from such a distance, one glace of HH made saints emotional, happy, rejoice... some devotees where physically challenged yet the desire for Guru Darshan was witnessed.

During the morning procession devotees waited for one glance of HH and some devotees would offer him sweets, some would please HH with their fancy costume, decoration, songs, some would get emotional... everyone trying to please HH, everyone trying to get that one eye contact with him... and trust you me, I am assure you that no one can say that Babaji dint look at me... each and every devotees was blessed and every soul was tript (satisfied).

These amazing experiences made me realise where I stand?

- Physically fit yet complaining about my hair, height, nail, complexion...
- Educated but lack of devotion
- Blessed with all the materialistic things but no gratitude
- Recognising others mistakes and no self improvement
- Want to be in limelight all the time...
- Patience- if I see 10 people standing in a Q I would say oh! its a long Q.. what about 25000 devotees standing in one Q for langer..
- HH dint take rest at all, he once again showed us how to live for others and how to give love to others and make others Happy!

One of the saints in Dubai sangat also mentioned that all those who attended the samagam go so much from Samagam  but the question is what did we give? Did we give our ego away, hatred, bad mouthing, pride, anger, curiosity? Because without giving gurdakshina the yag is incomplete.

Saints I have all these drawbacks in me and I seek your blessings inorder to bring a positive change and be a true devotee of HH. Please shower your prayers and blessing for my improvment.

Please forgive me for my mistakes.

Loving Dhan Nirankar Ji,

[Divine Souls:4298] 16 nov

Know the One i.e., God, believe One and then be one. This is the most effective way to peace within and calm outside.

This was stated here late last evening by His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission while addressing a huge gathering of the Mission's devotees and other God-loving people on the second day of the ongoing 62nd Annual NIrankari Sant Samagam. The 3-day Samagam is being attended by lakhs of people from India and abroad.

Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj said that to know the Truth or God is the prime aim of human life. Various saints and sages, Gurus and prophets have been telling this to man in their own styles, manners and languages. Some of them even warned man. Man, however, always opposed the Truth. People believed that rituals inherited from their forefathers were the real Truth, their final destination. They never relished and attempt to change their beliefs. They crucified, tortured and assassinated those who raised the voice of Truth.

Baba Ji pointed out that the world has always been divided between haves and have- nots, not only from economic point of view but spiritually also. There have been those who believed in truth, love, compassion, peace, tolerance and co-operation. They always tried to help others, give them smiles. And there have been those also who indulged in jealousy, lived with hatred and gave pain and sorrow to others. Like flowers and thrones, the two always existed in this world.

Saints have, however always followed and suggested the path of truth, love and peace, said Baba Ji. They were called insane, but they never felt shaken. They did not give up the path of truth. They remained steadfast in their faith and devotion towards God.

His Holiness said that this is the objective of this on-going Samagam also. Saints here too have used different languages and presented songs, poems and speeches emphasizing only one aspect that man must realize the Truth and link himself with God. He must see this Supreme Entity dwelling in all and thus love all. They quoted various holy scriptures to point out that there was no dearth of the words of wisdom any time in past, but it was the man himself who did not pay heed to them. He can, therefore, pay his attention at least now. Otherwise, he will fail to make his life happy here and hereafter. Let him realize God and live in joy and peace like Meera Bai, Kabir Ji and numerous other saints, said Baba Ji.

Yesterday's session was marked by songs, poems and speeches in different languages by saints or preachers from different parts of the country and abroad. They also emphasized the need to know the Truth and pointed out that this is possible only with the kind benevolence of the True Master. It is this divine knowledge that has brought so many people together.

Nirankari Pardarshani – an impressive exhibition depicting the Mission's history, ideology and various activities through models, photographs and charts utilising the latest technology, continued to attract the crowd almost round the clock. Another exhibition – Bal Sangat Ke Badhte Kadam, showing various activities and Samagams of the Bal Sangat (the children's congregation) also proved equally popular. The other busy places included the publication stalls. The magazine department has brought out a special souvenir on the theme of "Tolerance'. Devotees showed keen interest in the same.

RE: [Divine Souls:4299] 62nd Sant Samagam - Lesson learnt

 Dear Saints,
Dhan Nirankarji,
It is true, that his blessings are always with us, no matter how foe we stand physically but his divine eye is always on us. I just want to share one of my experience of last year. During the prabhat pheri in 61sr annual sant samagam every one were enjoying by singing dancing and seeing happy faces of thousands of devotees around and Divine Muskan of Triveni. Suddenly I saw a mahapurush brought some bread pakoras and started distributing to saints who were busy dancing singing in the procession. By seeing those pakoras I also had a wish of having one of it, but it did not reached to me, then the same mahapurush brought pakoras second time but this time also it did not reached to me. My wish of having a pakora was not fullfilled and i started enjoying the singing and dancing. After a fe minutes one of the saint just called me from the back and gave me a pakora and said this Sis. Renuka ji has sant for you. Hearing that I was really surprised that I had neither told anybody nor showed any sign of it that i was willing to have a pakora, and Sis. Renuka ji was at the distance on the roof of a van busy taking the photoes and how come this my little wish in the crowed of lakhs of devotees has been fulfilled by my Lord. Really I dont have the words to say him thanks. He is taking care of all our needs, 'BUS HAMEIN IS PAR ITBAAR KARNA AAJAYE'

Dear Companions,
I happen to witness after long the 62nd Samagam in person. The
devotion of the sadh sangat there left me spellbound. Having had to do
Nimashkar and prostrate 100's of feet away the devotees were all
contented and grateful to the True master as was  evident from the
tears that rolled down their faces. Any there were many who by nature
of their duties considered themselves truly lucky if they get a
distant glimpse of their True master. That's when came a slap on my
face when I recollected, on 30th August after the Symphony Hall
samagam at Birmingham how sorry I felt for all the devotees who
couldn't do Nimashkar in person at HH's holy feet and so concluded
that a genuine blessing has been missed. Personally, I feel since
joining the mission here in UK I have been pampered by Satguru's visit
every year in that I get his darshan, Nimaskar up close and personal
so much so that it slips me into thinking many a times master being
the body. Samagam at Delhi has taught me many lessons one of which
being blessings are never missed. If at all we miss it's when we don't
uphold Satguru's word in thought, word and deed. May we all be blessed
with the strength to do what Satguru want us to.
Dhan Nirankar Ji.

[Divine Souls:4296] What is EGO???

Ego is being "shy" and not wanting to talk to people. Ego is fear of what others might think of you. Ego is self critical and refuses to accept compliments. Ego is a lack of trust for people because your trust has been violated. Ego is living inside of a comfort zone, because you are afraid of failing. Ego is thinking that everything you do is perfect or striving for perfection. Ego is taking the credit when it doesn't belong to you or not liking it when someone else gets credit. Ego is giving up on the persistence God implanted in you. Ego is being closed minded. Ego is not allowing yourself to learn and grow for fear of the responsibility that comes with that. Ego is not forgiving because you feel justified in your anger. Ego chooses to take offense to what others say or do. Ego is self righteous and critical. Ego is false humility. Ego is oppression and not wanting to move past the past. Ego is having to be in control of everything. Ego is thinking nobody can do it better than you. Ego is an inability to admit you need help. The Ego needs to "keep up with the Jones". Ego needs to appear like everything is perfect when it isn't. Ego is a victim. Ego is pride.

This is only a few examples of Ego. We all comfortably wear our Ego. We just need to make the choice daily to take the invisible shield off and be the true person God intended for us to be. He is in control, he knows our path, he is ready to take on ALL road bumps in our path. If we hand over complete control to God and not try to live it alone, our Ego will safely be left outside the doorway of our life.

In short, Ego is Edging God Out.

         i learnt two things from this 62 nirankari sant samagam delhi

1 st thing is we always heard the quote
       jaise bhi ho paristhithi
       ek se rahe mansthithi
      this samagam is the example of the this quote rain is coming this samagam twice 12 and 16 nov
but the saints are giving thanks to babaji and singing and dancing all the night
we are in the seva ground no 4 langar but when we see the love and faith towords babaji and saints i learned one thing is that this condition should apply in our life as practical
when we are going somewere and rains coming we are always get upset but in this samagam saints teach a lesson to me not worry enjoy the same and thanks to nirankar and babaji

2 thing i learned from this samagam is
  when we sacrify ourself to babaji then babaji take care ourself
  in this samagam saints are dancing and singing and enjoying the samagam with great joy. they not having worries about the rains. but babaji come ground almost day and night and asking to the saints and inquiring the condition this means
                      chinta nahi chintan karo
        aap jikar karo wo fikar karega

babaji said one more thing

          samaz samazane ke liye hai samzane ke liye nahi

Dhannirankarji saints, with the blessings of HH and Mataji we, from ulhasnagar ems group got a chance to propagate mission's message by a roadshow at gateway of india..saints it was indeed an unforgettable experience, a perfect blend of patriotism and spirituality...slogans were enchanted by all the saints there. the crux of it was that Peace is needed the most today not pieces and mere saying wont help,we'll have to work for it, just like it is said that charity begins at home in the same manner this has to be started at ground level, peace,love,compassion has to be inbibed within us first,surroundings and eventually this would be communicable to all...

saints bless me so that i may too work upon it..

[Divine Souls:4291] Avtar Bani Verse 53

THOU FORMLESS ONE [53]

Those who deny the existence of the Formless One are not human being but atheists;

Like boulders, they are a burden on the earth and they are worthless and unwanted people.

Those who are devoid of Divine Name are filthy and impure people;

Death has laid traps for them everywhere.

Life is a sheer waste if one does not remember God day and night;

The harvest of human life decays if there are no showers of divine grace.

Cursed is the worldly pursuit if it is devoid of the name of the God;

cursed is the wealth of the miser which does not fetch any comfort.

Great is the glory of the one in whose mind God dwells;

Avtar says, I sacrifice my heart and soul unto such a blessed person.

EK TU HI NIRANKAR [53]

Niranjar ton munkar jihde, bande nahin oh kafar ne;
Pathar wangoon bhar dharat te, bade nikamme vafar ne.
Nam hari ton khali jihde, bande gande mande ne;

[Divine Souls:4290] A story shared in Sangat - EGO

Dhan Nirankarji,

I happened to listen a very beautiful story in sangat this Sunday, so thought of sharing it with all of you.

" Once there was a priest who used to worship GODESS 'Laxmi' and was very dedicated follower of HER, one day he thought of placing a idol of Laxmi in the temple. He did all the rituals to complete the procedure of keeping the idol in the temple but he did not have enough money to build a temple in which he could place that.

He used to live in a small village and there is no wealthy person in the vicinity who can fund him. One day a 'Sheikh' got to know about this priest and decided to build a temple for the priest so that he could place the idol but Sheikh's town is little far from the village. So the priest decided to take the idol to the Sheikh's town. But again, being a small village there was no medium or any cart to take the idol to the temple so priest took a donkey and put the idol on his back and started moving.

On the way to the town priest has to pass through 2-3 small villages and while going from there he met some people who started bending with folded hands after seeing the Laxmi's idol. But donkey started thinking that people are giving respect to him and he felt very proud of himself.

After walking few miles they met some more people from other villages who started throwing flowers and dancing in front of the Laxmi's idol but again donkey thought that these people are doing this for me and he become boastful and arrogant, he refused to move ahead and dropped the idol to the ground. Upon seeing this villagers started beating him and left him into the jungle"

Crux of the story was, Most of us behave like that donkey because we forget that people giving respect to us, saying 'Dhan nirankar' and touching feet because we have been bestowed by the 'Divine knowledge' and it is by my Satguru's blessings that we are seeing 'Babaji's' image in each other.

But the problem is, we fail to recognize this and think that it is happening because of 'ME', 'My kind nature' , 'My vichar/geet' and we start feeding our 'EGO'.

~ Please bless all that we can overcome these obstacles in the spiritual journey and can live a blissful life.

[Divine Souls:4288] Avtar Bani Verse 52

THOU FORMLESS ONE [52]

Body, mind, material assets and the kith and kin are mortal, cannot stay forever;

Even the egoist and arrogant people are mortal, cannot stay forever.

Chariots, royal costumes, horses and elephants one may possess are mortal and cannot stay forever;

Love of the beloved, and cheerful companions are mortal, cannot stay forever.

Youthfulness, power, young age and wealth are mortal, cannot stay forever;

Luxuries, riches and splendor are mortal, cannot stay forever.

The one who perceives God after meeting the True Saints becomes immortal;

Avtar says, the beloved devotee of God remains alive even after death.

EK TU HI NIRANKAR [52]

saathjana mil rab pachane kayam dayam banda rahe,

avtar pyara bhagat hari da maut baad vee jinda rahe....

[Divine Souls:4286] Divine Messages Service

Divine Messages for the week:

1) Sumiran ka matlab ehsas, kewal ek mechanical shabdo ka uccharan nahi, ke parmatma ka naam zuban le rahi hain (Delhi, 18-10-09)

    Simran(Remembrance of God) refers to realizing God. It is not a mechanical repetition  of words.

2) Kitne Kitne baras ho chuke hain, ye samagam attend karne ka jinko mauka mil rahan hain, to ab tak to unke zehan mein baat puri tarah se baith chuki hain, ki system kya hain. Yahan par kaise uthte baithte hain, kaise chalte hain. Kam se kam woh to naye sajjno ke liye misalein banenge (8th Nov 09)

     Those who have been attending these Samagams (congregations) since so many years, they know the working & the functionality of the system. They should become role models for new comers.

3) Surat aur seerat mein kewal matra ka farak nahin hain, ek bahut badha fark hain. Jo shaklo surat mili hain, woh mubarak hain, lekin fitrat aur seerat bhi insano wali ho(14.11.09)

There is difference between beauty and character. The beauty that we have is welcome, but our character and tendencies should be like humans too.

[Divine Souls:4289] MASTER'S DIVINE SOUP FOR EVERY SOUL- ( RUNNING THE RACE OF FAITH----------------)

                   RUNNING THE RACE OF FAITH

             Run the race set before you and finish well

                                                         Bible (Acts 20:24).

The runners in a marathon must all follow a clearly marked course. Suppose one of the athletes decides to pick his own path. He keeps to the 26-mile race standard and sets his finish line in the same spot as the official one, but he runs through neighborhoods with fewer hills and across less crowded parks. His plan seems excellent to him, but when he crosses the finish line, there will be no medal or ribbon waiting.

What a silly thing for a person to do! Yet, believers (Guru-Sikhs) fall into this very trap when they decide the course for their life instead of running the race sets by Sat-Guru and God. By submitting to His will—doing what He says and going where He leads—we remain on the right path. But the moment we revert to our old habits and start making decisions based on our own wisdom, we go far afield.

For believers, the finish line is the same whether they run the race Sat-Guru and God's way or their own way—namely, salvation. However, the difference is what we have to show for all the energy expended getting there. No one wants to look back and say, "I didn't really accomplish anything of value." Regardless of how grand a legacy someone leaves, the only truly lasting and worthwhile deeds are those done for the Sat-Guru (Lord) and in the power of His Spirit.

Thankfully, no matter how far off course we veer, the power of Sat-Guru and God is still present. He (Sat-Guru) reminds us of the right path—as well as the power available to get back on it and persevere. Your route is set; your choice clear.

[Divine Souls:4285] MASTER'S DIVINE SOUP FOR EVERY SOUL- ( WALKING BY FAITH ----------------------)

"For we walk by faith, not by sight"
                                              (BIBLE- Corinthians 5:7)

 FROM OUR MOST DEAREST  "SAT-GURU"

Are you walking by faith or sight today? In other words, are you choosing to believe God no matter what your circumstances look like, or are you making decisions and focusing your mind on what you can see.

As believers, we have to remember that we aren't just subject to this natural realm–what we can see, hear, touch, and smell. No, we have access to the unseen, supernatural realm where all the promises and blessings of God are stored. When you choose to walk by faith, you are opening a door from the natural realm to the supernatural realm and drawing the blessings of Sat-Guru and God into your life.

Remember: with God seeing isn't believing; believing is seeing! Throughout the day, begin to declare, "Father, I want to thank You that my payday is coming. You said no good thing will You withhold because I walk uprightly. I believe even right now You're arranging things in my favor." As you walk and live by faith, you will live a life pleasing to God. You'll see His blessing and favor in abundance, and you'll fulfill the destiny He has in store for you!

From Guru-Sikh (Disciple)

 My most dear Sat-Guru and God, today I choose to walk by faith. I choose to believe Your Word no matter what things look like in the natural. I know You are working behind the scenes, and You will open up doors of blessing and favor in every area of my life.

[Divine Souls:4282] Words of wisdom from Saint Kabir Ji

Rev Saints,

Dhan Nirankar ji.

MITHA SABSE BOLIYE, SUKH UPJE CHAHU AUR; YEHI KARAN-VASI MANTRA HEY, TYAJIYE VACHAN KATHOR:

Speak sweetly to one and all, it brings happiness all around. This is the only way to win over others hearts. Words of hatred and impoliteness never help.

SUNIYE GUN-KI BARTA, AVA-GUN LIJIYE NAHI:

Always listen to words of praises of others. Do not partake of others shortcomings by listening or speaking of them.

TAMAS PI SHITAL BHAYAA, PHIR KACHHU RAHI NA PYAAS: BHRIGUMUNI MARE LAT SO, PRABHU PAD GAHI JIMI DAS

Overcome the angry temperament and be loving and caring in nature. For example when Bhrigumuni hit Lord Vishnu (in one of his reincarnations) with his leg, Lord Vishnu did not retaliate. Instead he bent down and started massaging Bhrigumuni's legs saying he must have been hurt.

TYAG TO AISA KIJIYE, SABKUCH EK HI VAAR; SAB PRABHU-KA MERA NAHI, YEH NISH-CHAYA VICHAR.

The true surrender is where mentally the devottee firmly believes that everything belongs to the Lord Almighty and then lives his life accordingly.

MERA MUJH-MEIN KACHHU NAHI, JO KACHHU HOYE SO TERA, TERA TUJHKO SOPTE KYA LAGEGA MERA:

This work exemplifies the mental state of a true devottee of Lord. He is mentally surrendered to him and believes everything belongs to the Lord Almighty. He is happy and contended with whatever state the Lord Almighty puts him through.

CHHODE JAB ABHIMAN KO, SUKHI BHAYAA TAB JEEV; BHAVE KOI KACHHU KAHE, MERE RUDAY NIJ PIV.

When the ego is surrendered by knowing the omnipresent lord, peace descends upon the individual soul. the mind of such a soul is contended with the presence of the lord and does not take offence to ill words of others.

AHAMTA NA AANIYE, JO HARI SINHAASHAN DEY; JO DIL AVE DINTA, TO SAI APNA KAR LE:

Do not let ego pervade your mind even if the Lord Almighty bestows upon you the kingdom of the world. In whosoever heart a feeling of surrender and humility gets enshrined, the Lord Almighty makes them their own.

SAADHE INDRIYA PRABAL KO, JIHITE UTHE UPADH; MAN RAJA BAHEKAWATE, PANCHO BADE ASAADH.

Control the powerful senses who are undisciplined and mislead the mind.

PAANCH INDRIYA CHATHHA MAN, SAT SANGAT SUKHANT; KAHE KABIR JAM KYA KARE, JO PANCHO GAANTH NICHANT:

Only by constant company of the truth (perceiving the Lord Almighty around you and keeping company of saints of Lord Almighty) can the five senses and mind be disciplined. Otherwise effort is futile as the senses keep you under turmoil.

PUNYA BADA UPKAR HEY, SABKE UPAR BHAKH; JIV-DAYA CHITTA RAKHIYE, VED PURAN SAKH:

The greatest of all actions as stated by Vedas and other scriptures is to inculcate mercy and compassion in your heart and serve others selflessly.

BADA PAAP HEY HINSHA, TEHI SAMAN NA KOI; DHARMARAI JAB LEKHA MANGE, TAB SAB NAUBAT HOYE:

The greatest sin is causing pain to others. There is nothing like it. When you have to answer in the court of Lord Almighty, you will be bereft of any excuses.

CHANCHAL MAN CHET REY, SOYA KAHA AGYAN; JAB DHAR JAM LE GAYEGA, PADA RAHEGA MYAN:

Listen my undisciplined mind engrossed in the lures of the material world -  one day you will have to leave this body on the call of Lord Almighty and everything will be left behind as nothing goes along with you.

BHUKHE-KO KACHHU DIJIYE, YATHA SAKTI JO HOY; TA UPAR SHITAL VACHAN,LEKHO ATMA SOE:

Please write on your soul and hearts that you should serve the poor and hungry within the means bestowed on you by Lord Almighty. On top of it always use sweet and kind words with the afflicted and poor.

JHAGRA NITAHI BARAYIYE, JHAGRA BURI BALAI; DUKH UPJE CHINTA DAHE, JHAGRA MEN GHAR JAI

Do not fight and quarrel as it is a bad evil. As a result of quarrels sorrow and tensions arises and even home and families are broken up.

SWARG MRUTYU PATAL MEIN, PUR TIN SUKH NAAYE, SUKH SAHEB KE BHAJAN MEIN, AUR SANTANKE MAAY:

In the all the three worlds (Heavens, Hell and Earthly) happiness is not available. Happiness is only available to those engaged in singing the glory of almighty in company of saints.

[Divine Souls:4281] Avtar Bani Verse 51

THOU FORMLESS ONE [51]

O' man, the multi-colored material objects that allure your mind;

You must bear in mind that they are all transitory in nature.

The pleasures of the world are like fleeting shadows which come and go, and if you attach yourself with them;

As soon as the shadows disappear, you shall have to weep and repent.

All that is visible to the eye is transitory, it comes and goes;

He is ignorant and unwise who is enamoured of this.

If one remains clung to what is transitory, he has to repent at last;

He does not gather anything, and he has to leave everything behind.

Those who love the True Saint, get all the comforts of life;

Avtar says, if the True Saint is so pleased, he unites them with himself.

TU HI NIRANKAR [51]

Maya rang birangi jedi, teri jee parchandi ae,

Pakki gal samajh lai meri, eh aundi te jandi ae,

Sukh duniya de parchave ne, jekar preetan payega,

Dhal gaye parchave jis dam royenga kurlayenga,

Jo kujh akkhin nazari aundaye aavan jaavan vala ae,

Akalo anha murakh banda jo is da matwala ae,

Chalde naal preeta la ke aakhar rauna painda ae,

Hath palle nahin painda kujh vi sabh kujh khona painda ae,

Naal sant de preet kare jo sukh auh saare paa lainde,

Sant avtar kare je kirpa apne naal mila lainde.....

[Divine Souls:4277] MASTER'S DIVINE SOUP FOR EVERY SOUL---USING THE TIME FOR

                           Using Time Well FOR GOOD CAUSE

The Lord gives us resources and abilities, and He desires that we use them well. One such gift is time.

In order to manage our days effectively, we should continually review them: What activities did we choose? How long did each one take? What were the results? This discipline will reveal what is most important to us.

In looking closely at our assessments, we can determine what drives our decisions about how to use time. Some people merely respond to circumstances for a majority of their day. They jump from one thing to the next, answering phone calls, reorganizing shelves, or doing anything that appears in their world at the moment. But this style of living misses the mark.

Other people spend their time according to desires. They want to relax, so they get home and watch television for the evening. Or they love to hunt, so they use their time to research equipment and locate wildlife in the forest. Desires are not bad, but they should not drive the bulk of our actions.

Thankfully, there are also true disciples who live according to what they deem important. Loving God and serving others, for instance, are two spiritual values that should, ideally, determine what we do with our time.

If you itemize your activities and their time consumption over the course of a week, you might be surprised at the dominating events. Each moment is a gift, so set aside a few minutes each evening to plan. Then revisit the way you spent the last 24 hours. This will help you to live purposefully.

[Divine Souls:4275] Avtar Bani verse 50

THOU FORMLESS ONE [50]

Thou art my Supreme sovereign and the nurturer, I pray unto thee;

Body, mind and wealth, all belong to Thee as Thy creation and I offer the same unto Thee;

Thou art the father and the mother of all and all are Thy children;

If Thou art please to bestow Thy kind grace, one find plenty and prosperity at home.

None can encompass Thy infinite domain and unique in Thy splendour;

 Thou art the loftiest of the lofty and I have only Thy support.

Thou art aware of my condition and my limitation;

Avtar says, I am the servant of Thy servants and I sacrifice my all at Thy holy feet.

EK TU HI NIRANKAR [50]

Toon Malak toon khalak mere, tudh agge ardas karan;

Tan man dhan sab teri maya, pesh main sari ras karan.

Toonhion maat pita eyn sabh da, bache bele tere ne;

Teri nazar swalli hove, ghar sukhan de dere ne.

Ant na tera bujhe koi, tere roop Nirala ey;

Toon ucha eyn sabh da ucha, tera ik sahara ey.

apni had te apani halat, taithon raushan sari ey;

Avtar das tere dasan da, te charnan ton  balihari ey.
