[Divine Souls:4455] The Essence.......Thoughts of His Holiness Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh

RELIGION

What is Religion ?

What is the definition of Religion? To be a religious person I would
suggest that one must have the feelings of Love and Compassion
embedded within his heart. If you think that without this you can be
religious, it is not possible. It is like taking the foundation of a
building away and what will result? - it will simply collapse. The
fundamental requirement of being religious is to bring about these
virtues in our day to day living. If we think we can harbour feelings
of hatred or promote acts of violence and become religious we are
sadly mistaken. The edifice of our religion will not stand as the
foundation will fracture and weaken the structure.
Today I see the claim of so called religious people and it is
generally considered that if we visit holy places or undertake
religious rites or accomplish certain ceremonies alone, then we are
considered to be religious. Does the performance of rituals mean that
we have become religious? Is it not the case that the spirituality
within us has been vacated and today we are simply carrying empty
boxes? There are no jewels of devotion within us so how can we make
such claims? We are emptied of love and compassion, so where do we
stand? The performance of rituals is incomplete if we do not have love
in our act. We also fall short if the intention behind our worship is
not sacred. Without love and sacred intent, can our claims of being
religious be justified? The reality of the situation which I often
remind myself of is that, 'I did not know how to worship until I knew
how to love'. So love is a fundamental requirement to be religious.

From the book...........The Essence

Your Charandhool,
Sachin Suresh Parab.

[Divine Souls:4421] *****MEANING OF FIVE PLEDGES*****

Five Pledges

Firstly, to accept wholeheartedly that all that you are, and all that
you consider to be your own, is a gift from God. To guard therefore
against these things becoming a source of greed, arrogance or pride.
The pledge encourages one to utilise these gifts (body, mind and all
wealth) for the wider good, in the understanding that you are a mere
trustee of these things. Baba Ji often refers to this state as
'samurpan' – utter surrender to God.

Secondly, to avoid judgement, condemnation or hatred of any being, and
to live above worldly divisions such as those of nationality, race,
colour or creed. The essence of this pledge is the acceptance of one
and all without prejudice, as members of one world family, created by
One Divine Maker. Baba Ji can be heard referring to this pledge as
'samdrishti' – literally, looking upon all with one eye, or one
vision.

Thirdly, to pledge to rise above petty discrimination on the basis of
lifestyle, diet or dress. These factors are often geographically,
historically and culturally determined, and all too often become an
unnecessary source of conflict and unrest. Any person who commits to
the third pledge, learns to live and let live, by way of a deep
respect and tolerance for diversity. Baba Ji may talk of this promise
as 'vishaalta' to be large of heart, and broad in mind.

Fourthly, to live a dutiful and honest life, fulfilling any
responsibility that has come your way. There is really no need to
renounce the world, or indulge in penances, to come closer to God.
Rather, pledge to live in the world as a good citizen, sharing in the
burden of others, but never becoming a burden upon others. Baba Ji
calls this the path of 'karam yog', where one's daily living becomes
an act of worship.

The fifth pledge is to honour the sanctity of the Knowledge of God as
a divine blessing. In order to avoid misinterpretation and confusion,
the Knowledge should not be disclosed without the permission of the
Satguru because in it's essence, the Knowledge is more than words can
contain. When a Satguru or enlightened authority speaks, it is a
conversation of spirit, which transcends all physical boundaries. Once
Satguru perceives that an individual has grasped the essence of the
Knowledge, he gladly asks that individual to share his bliss with
others.

[Divine Souls:4420] thought

" When you are at your lowest, exercise patience like the ladder; and step-by-step you will make it to the top."

[Divine Souls:4419] Avtar Vani verse 69

TU HI NIRANKAR [69]

Nirankar noon jinhe pachhata, us di shan naiari ey;
Ose di hi mehr da sadqa, bachdi dunia sari ey.
Oho jihe hi rab de bande, dunia par lagande ne;
Iho jihe hi rab de bande, jag da rog mitande ne.
Rab iho jihe bhagtan noon hi, apne nal milayega;
Gur ton sun ke nam jape jo, dunia vich sukh payega.
Iho jihe rab de bande di, ih ap hi sewa karda ey;
Oh sabh ton ucha hunda ey jo, is de dar da barda ey.
Avtar jape jo nam hari da, oh sacha te sucha ey;
Dhanta yog hai jeevan us da, oh uche ton ucha ey.

THOU FORMLESS ONE [69]

The one who has recognized the formless one-Nirankar has his own unique grandeur;
It is  with his kind grace that the entire world gets salvaged.
Such men of God help the world cross the ocean of materialism;
Such men of God remove malady from the world.
God will unite with Him only such devotees;
The one who remembers God after knowing from the True Master will find happiness in the world.
God Himself looks after such a man of God;
The one who is the slave at His divine door is the loftiest of all.
Avtar says, the one who remembers God is pure and pious;
Blessed in his life and he is greatest among the great.

Re: [Divine Souls:4418] Eternal Joy & Happiness awarded by His Holiness

Indi Sidhu

Following on from brother Dharmendra's experience

I too have been meaning to put figure to keyboard to share the time spent with His Holiness during his visits to england and europe.

Wen satguru Baba Ji came to europe my wife and my eldest son travelled to inssbruck to do sewa with other saints. Our tour began on the thursday wen we went to a mahaprush's house to catch the flight early next day.

We went to sleep about one in the morning but in reality we i did not sleep at all.
Upon arriving into austria we had landed in a town which was about two and half hours away from innsbruck.  We drove to the city and my driving wad well... That's another discussion in itself.  We got to innsbruck and on arrival at the bhawan mahaprush from other european countries well busy doing sewa for all other saints and the sant samagam which was to commence the next day for two days.

Anyways we got the oppprtunity see Satguru Baba ji but we didn't do nimashkar untill later on. This was so because the great Generator Organiser and Destroyer was there to organise the samagam in person.

Satguru Baba Ji paid detail attention to every element that was contributing to
make the program a success. From arranging the stage, the speaker stage,   The lighting for the cameras, to the loose cables on the floor, to watering the flowers personally, to arranging the banners inthe hall and the background scenery, to sound system, to setting up the exhibition, to parking and then the langar.  All this he organised without a line appearing across his forehead even for a moment. Even when most of this took place from 7.00pm at night up to 3.00pm in the morning. The remarkable and most wonderous thing about this was that the next day satguru came again to finish off at 10.00 am untill two in the

Many kinds of Sewa is rendered in this Samagam and some saints come well in advance to take part in this Sewa. But Das was able to take part in one particular Sewa and that too one day before the commencement of Samagam.  With the grace & bestowment of the True Master, Das is rendering Sewa under CCTV and Live Internet. This year something extraordinary happened in the Samagam which Das would like to share with you saints.  Officially speaking, Das had acquired the Divine Knowledge way back in 1986 but began to understand the Divine Knowledge and the Mission from 2000 onwards.  Never once during this period had Das got theopportunity to seek blessing from the True Master directly.  But the year 2010 is an exception.  One night das had prayed that if he could seek blessing from His Holiness by touching His lotus feet, may be das would be able to live the rest of his life whatever left with eternal joy and happiness. Prayers are meant to be answered saints.  It came right out of the blue, when our Head of CCTV came and annouced on the last day of the Samagam that Babaji would be visiting the Control Room 1 of CCTV situated opposite His Holiness's Green Room. Saints you can imagine the euphoria, the happiness and the smiles on the faces of all the saints who were associated with Control Room 1 of CCTV. Das was also associated with Control Room 1 and was overwhelmed & overjoyed to hear this.  Legs were trembling, hands were shaking and on top of this our Head had entrusted Das in preparing a presentation of the entire background and working of CCTV.  Das had sent our photographer saints in all directions of the samagam to take photos of cameras placed at various locations on the ground  and a presentation was prepared.  His Holiness came as committed right after the conclusion of the final day of the Samagam and took keen interest in each and every equipment placed in the control room.  His Holiness also asked some questions which belong to the media fratenity, which proves the vast amount of  knowledge His Holiness has acquired. Almost 5 minutes were over in explanations and demonstration. Das was first spell bound to see His Holiness so near that he could feel his breath but the entire attention was directed at His Holiness's lotus feet.   Would Das get the opportunity to seek blessing of His Holiness by touching his lotus feet? The chances were seen diminshing as almost five minutes were already over and any moment Babaji might leave.Then all of a sudden a small child entered the Control Room and directly fell at the lotus feet of Babaji and took blessing.  This was the cue all the saints were waiting for and they all went ahead and took the blessing of His Holiness by touching his lotus feet.  Das also got the opportunity to seek blessing by touching the lotus feet of His Holiness. The joy and happiness that flowed through the entire body and soul cannot be expressed in words but can only be felt. Das felt himself fortunate that among the 8 to 9 lakhs of devotees who had  attended the samagam a handful only would have got this opportunity and das was among those handful. If someone asks Das which is your best day of your whole life then Das would reply 24th of Jan 2010.

Das can say that on 24th Jan 2010, eternal joy and happiness was awarded to das by His Holiness

[Divine Souls:4415] Avtar Bani Verse 68

TU HI NIRANKAR [68]

Rang hari de rangaya jehda, jo karda jaa kahenda ae,

Rang hari de rangaya jehda, sang hari de rehanda ae,

Jo kujh hundai ho jaye bhave, dil noo ehde gam nahin,

Jo kujh hundai ho jaye bhave, naam bina koi kamm nahin,

Jo kujh vee rabb kar denda, ae isnoo meetha lagda ae,

Jisde dil vich chahvi ghante, naam da deeva jagda ae,

Sant aaye ne aise thaan ton, aise vich samavangey,

Aithey has has jeevan katdey, aggey izzat pavange,

Santa noo vadiyana santo, rabb di hi vadiyayi ae,

kahe avtar hari har andar, hunda bhed na bhai ae...

THOU FORMLESS ONE [68]

The one who is imbued with God, whatever he does or says;

The one who is imbued with God, he feels the presence of God.

Whatever may happen, such a person does not feel sad at heart;

Whatever may happen, he is ever-engaged in remembrance of divine name.

Whatever is ordained by God, he does welcome it;

He is the one in whose heart the lamp of Divine Name glows all the twenty-four hours.

The saints have emanated from God and shall immerse in Him;

They are blissful here and shall occupy a place of honor in the Kingdom of God.

Glorification of the saints, truly speaking, amounts to glorification of God Himself;

Avtar says, O' dear brothers, God and True Master are just identical.

[Divine Souls:4410] Examining My Prayer Life...

Whenever something has bothered me during my spiritual walk with God, my mom has always told me that it is in those moments when I need to thank God the most because sometimes when we feel discouraged or broken it is hard to maintain a thankful attitude.  And if we don't keep a thankful attitude- things like despondency and bitterness can creep into our lives.

One of my favorite verses in the Bible captures this thought beautifully:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard you hearts and minds."

Another verse states, "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God."

I'll be completely honest - sometimes I find my prayers dwelling more on my requests to God and less on saying my thanks to God. But like this verse indicates, expressing our thanks to God is the foundation of prayer. The Bible says "IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS"....that means even when we don't feel good or when things don't look good, like the devastation left by the Haiti earthquake, don't forget to keep praising God with a thankful attitude.

When I was walking today, I thought about the words in the Simran:
Tuhi Nirankar, Mein Teri Sharan Houn, Mujhe Bakshlo.

These simple words say so much. They encompass everything essential to prayer and that too with a thanksgiving attitude, declaring, "God, you are great!" Our simran starts with a thankful note to God.  It then dawned on me that sometimes my prayers/talks with God are long and wordy but they can miss the most fundamental thing. I noticed whereas I usually end my prayers on a thankful note, my words of thanks to God should be the first thing coming out of mouth when I pray....and I bet if I continue to start my prayers this way, I'll focus on my worries less.

As I try to apply these principles in my life, I'm becoming more aware of one simple truth~ A thankful person is a powerful person. When we learn to thank God in every situation, we not only build up positive energy and put our faith into action, we open the door for God to do a profound work in our lives.

~apna banake tune, aisan kardiya hai, yeh thera shukriya hai....
Jho kuch houn aaj data, sab tune hi kiya hai, yeh thera shukriya hai...
Theri Rehmatoun ka sagar,maine sada piya hai, yeh thera shukriya hai~

Dhan Nirankar Ji.

Re: [Divine Souls:4409] Do Ghosts exist

Dnj

As has been said by many learned souls before me we are most vulnerable when our faith is faltering and that if we have the headphones of gian we will block out unwanted sound.

Some earlier saints gave reference to seeing ghosts possessing people and gave reference to saints like raj kavi ji also lovingly reffered to by many as 'ghostbuster' for blessings he has to remove such spirits from this earth.

Although such beliefs are often shown in movies or heard of more in the east then the west, here's a question: do dragonflies exist? I haven't seen so I don't believe, I've heard of but I've not seen...is it just my limited knowledge or will I only believe what I physically see with my own eyes?

In reality if our faith is strong and steadfast in Nirankar we may never see a ghost and if we do then that to should be okay... So before I heard of it and now I see it!

I personally feel that as in the Avtar bani shabad 'aklan sochan paunch na sakhan mehran de behadi teh..' We cannot fully know his works are minds can't fathom his workings and who but him knows how many souls are out there, how many walk the earth in human form or not.

We can speculate but why bother? Let's just be thankful we have been rescued, let's not fear ghosts let's say they do exist... But our Lord, Our Satguru is stronger and we often here that once gian is received mera ana jana mukh gaya... Well God knows how he works let's pray that if there is a lost wandering soul and one the world may call a ghost let's pray it too completes what it set out to, gets gian and gets salvation.

Just as a nut on a wheel also reaches the same destination as the rest of the car, if we see someone or hear of someone bought to a saint or Guru, let's not worry too much, they too needed a vehicle to reach their destination.

Let's keep our headphones on tight and remember if we are full with nirankar we have no room for additional passengers

Please forgive me for my mistakes this is just a perspective

[Divine Souls:4408] The Alphabet Prayer

Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged with man.

Now the story goes, a little shepherd boy was watching his sheep one Sunday morning and he heard the bells of the church ringing. And watching the people walk along the pasture where he was, he happened to think to himself, "I would like to communicate with God! But, what can I say to God?" He had never learned a prayer. So, on bended knee, he began to recite the alphabet. Repeating this prayer several times, a man passing by, heard the boy's voice and peaked through the bushes. He saw the young boy kneeling with folded hands, eyes closed, repeating the alphabet. He interrupted the boy. "What are you doing, my little one?" he asked. The boy replied, "I was praying sir." The man seemed surprised and said, "But why are you reciting the alphabet?" The boy explained, "I don't know any prayers, sir. But I want God to take care of me, and to help me care for my sheep. And so I thought, if I said all I knew, He could put the letters together into words, and He would know all that I want and should say!"

The man smiled and said, "Bless your heart, God will!" And he went on to church knowing full well that he had heard the finest sermon he could possibly hear that day.

Maybe if we thought like little children and let God put together the letters, what we should want, and what we should say, things would probably work out a lot better than we planned!!!

Re: [Divine Souls:4407] Do Ghosts exist

Ashish Ji,

I am very fond of music, like to listen to various forms depending on my preference. Over the years i have realised that a good set of headphones make a lot of difference in the hearing quality of the music. Recently i bought a pair of premium noise cancelling headphones which give me a reprieve from the noisy world around me. Now i can hear more of my music, less of the unwanted noise around me and no audible distraction, significantly improving my enjoyment.

Taking the same example, i used to believe in superstitions before taking this divine-knowledge. There are many superstitions attached to most of the things that i do in an average day which kept distracting me from the real purpose of my life. After the enlightenment, i could clearly understand the basic sense of my evolution in human form and the faith/surrender to almighty nirankar helps me to enjoy my life more than ever before without thinking about the noisy (read superstitous) world around me. I am at peace completely enjoying the music of life with the "noise cancelling headphones" of gyan.

Coming to your questions, the ghost that i know exists and most afraid of is, my own self. Whenever i derail from the path of universal brotherhood, universal love, teachings of my satguru, i become a ghost. People are afraid to come near to me, talk to me. I am so deep in my own self that i isolate myself and my ego makes me a scary figure for everyone around me. This is where the company of saints works well because they have the power to cure with the help of prayers. A prayer with a pure heart and complete surrender can cure any soul in any spirit. A prayer always works, It can cure anything, anyone!

Love, Vivek

[Divine Souls:4406] Do Ghosts exist

Dhan Nirankar Ji to All,

I would like to share my limited understanding and experience what i have seen before my eyes being done/happened. these are very interesting questions. Does ghosts exist it's very critical, debatable question. which is not our concern here. Some do believe some don't. Some experienced or some haven't,  and we believe things based on our experiences, senses or witnesses. Something i would like to share which i have witnessed before my eyes couple of times and heard so many stores.

Someone would be standing in Nimaskar line and suddenly start playing, would loss their sense and start shaking their head, would speak differently would say different things who have seen it. they would know what i am talking about.. you can tell by their physical or mental behavior they are possessed. Sewadal Saints would hold them by the arms and take them to the stage and get them blessed by the Saint who is residing at the moment. they would calm down or pass out. After the Sangat responsible,faithful  Mahapursh would talk that spirit out of him or get him/her Gyan and give them salvation from that aimless wandering. As many of you know Rajkavi Ji' from Amritsar has liberated so many spirits and guided saints and constantly doing it.  spirits are nothing more than wondering souls who haven't met their desires and they were never come across Satguru to get to know the source of our origin. they are after those unmet desire whether they are worldly or unworldly or they can be any other sort or kind...

that very thing i think personally if there is no room in my house how can someone else  enter in there or if it's taken already, or occupied by Nirankar which already is but that faith and believe which comes with Guru's grace and our commitment, steadfast, stabilize and firm that knowing  i am already taken and full of him... or this.. unfortunately i am  sorry to hear or agreeing with  this conclusion it used to or happens due to lack of faith. lack of awareness of Nirankar Almighty.

There are so many approaches  which are vary,  none is right or wrong they all makes sense to me. as i heard or witnessed so many saints would help by sitting with that person who is possessed , giving her/him charan amrit, doing simran, feeling this Nirankar  around, talking to that lost spirit asking what are you looking for?. how would you leave this body? why are you here? if i give you what you need would leave this body? so many questions, negotiation deal would be at full swing until it gets somewhere there would to things either they get that deal done or leave that body or if nothing else would work... Brahm Gyan would be Brahm Astaar... these folks  would be requested to come to sangats and do some sort of physical sewa and have a strong faith in Babaji as Satguru/Nirankar, and All pervading is with us here right now,right here, right in or right around you...

Most of the saints who would do this sort of sedoes that wouldn't want someone else to even think or try it. it can be very harmful to individuals. if your faith wavers at that moment that lost spirit can harm anyone or anything if it gets out of control....  easier and safer  thing  to follow Satguru's, Parmukh's, Sewdal incharge or other responsible saints who are trained to deal with this kind of situations... if you are alone with the person... just get charan amrit spread around and on her/him do simran, while you think or look for help.

there is lot more to share but i would like to sum it up here. its very interesting topic. would love to hear more experiences or input by other saints.

Humbly

THOU FORMLESS ONE [67]

The True Master manifests himself in this world, for the entire humanity;
The True Master manifests himself in this world, only for the benefaction of others.
The True Master manifests himself in this world, for the emancipation of the world;
The True Master manifests himself in this world, for preaching the concept of One - God.
None of as benevolent as the True Master, and there is no comparison to his wisdom;
Avtar says, without the True Master, one fails to save his honour in the divine court.

[Divine Souls:4399] Avtar Bani Verse 66

THOU FORMLESS ONE [66]

The religious fanatics perpetrated all types of cruelties upon the saints;

Several were bricked alive by the brutal religious bigots.

Several were crucified, while several others were made to sit on hot-plates;

The worldly people associated together and committed not one but several atrocities against the saints.

Avtar says, the devouts of God have, however, been taking all the people of the world as their own;

They faced all ordeals, sufferings and distress cheerfully submitting to the will of God.

TU HI NIRANKAR [66]

Kayi chadaye sooli utte lohan te bithlaye kayi,

Avtar bhagat par mande rahe ne apna kul jamane noo,

Aukad dukh musibat jhalli mitha mann ke bhane noo....

[Divine Souls:4388] Avtar Bani Verse 65

THOU FORMLESS ONE [65]

Just as robber have always been chasing the rich people;
Likewise, critics have always been maligning the saints.
But the saints ignored the slanderous accusations and taunts;
In the congregation of saints, the nactar of Truth continued to be served.
The critics, in spite of their counless effort, could not contradict the world of the True Master;
Avtar says, they could not obstruct the path of perfect True master

TU HI NIRANKAR [65]

Join dhur ton dhanvanan pichhe, aj tak lagge chor rahe;
Sant janan de pichhe nindak, dhur ton pande shor rahe.
Sun sun nindia tohmat tahne, sant magar be-ghaur rahe;
sant janan di mehfil andar chalde haq de daur rahe.
Lakh lakh jor laga lae nindak, par na gall noon tok sake;
Kahe Avtar guru pure da, rasta na oh rok sake.
