[Divine Souls:4425] When you were hungry and thirsty, I was there...

Dearest Saints, Dhan Nirankar

There is a Christian hymn in which a person questions God by asking "When I was hungry and thirsty, were you there". There are several other testing scenarios in this hymn where the person asks God again, "Were you there".

The hymn concludes when 'God' replies by answering such questions and saying "When you were hungry and thirsty, I was there. And the creed and the colour and the name don't matter, I was there".

You may also have come across a similar example where a person questions God asking Him if He was with them throughout the challenging times in life. 'God' replies by saying that when you could only see two footprints in the snow, it was not because I was not with you. The only reason that you did not see four footprints was because I carried you throughout those difficult times.

Saints, recently I came across some incidents which indicate to me that Satguru Baba Ji's actions are no different from the pious actions mentioned above.

On Saturday the 30th of January 2009, the funeral of Sister Shakuntala Singhani Ji, daughter-in-law of Chacha Partap Singh Ji, took place in the city of Birmingham. The following day, saints from across the UK, across Europe and further gathered to pay homage and celebrate the life of Rev. Santren Chadda Ji.

During this weekend, Rev. Sandeep Khinda Ji shared some priceless thoughts about how Baba Ji Himself insisted in informing Chachi Ji, mother-in-law of the late Shakuntala Ji, about the news. Chachi Ji began to feel the loss of her daughter-in-law and naturally questioned Baba Ji about what would happen to her son and his children now. Baba Ji, looking directly into Chachi's eyes and holding her arms as if to provide her with support and comfort said, "Mei Hu Na". By informing Chachi Ji that "I Am Here" and that personally, Baba Ji would take care of so much, Baba Ji provided an unrivalled sense of strength and reassurance.

Some years ago my much loved uncle passed away. My cousin who was only 16 at the time, seemed impossible to console. It was as if his whole world had crumbled in front of our eyes yet we could do nothing. We felt helpless.

It was only after meeting Baba Ji however, did he seem to gain a renewed sense of energy and a will to move on. When we asked him what had been said in the room, he said that Baba Ji comforted him and said "Don't worry about anything. From now on I am your father".

Such grace, such selflessness and such unconditional love still leave me in awe of the One who I have been so fortunate to know and realise.

Whenever, wherever we are in need let us never forget that He is there for us. When everything around us seems so dark; when there is no light at the end of the tunnel; when all seems doomed, let us remember such examples and realise that even that which seems impossible, is possible.

A devotee said at the Delhi samagam this year that whilst we find it difficult to live for ourselves that there is the One who lives for us all.

May we always remain grateful and connected with such a supreme force.

Humbly,

Lucky
