The Sant Nirankari Mission Chicago Youth organized and conducted a
clothing donation drive on March 22nd and April 5th, 2009. Chicago
youth saints worked together with Goodwill Industries to conduct the
clothing drive. For two weeks, saints graciously brought in new and
gently used clothes, shoes, hats, gloves, and linens which were
donated on April 5th, 2009. The slogan of the drive was "Willing To
Do Good." Clothes donated were sold at Goodwill stores to support
training and workforce development programs. Items that can't be sold
in stores are sent to developing countries around the world and
disaster victims.
In the end, approximately 20-25 boxes were donated to the local
Goodwill store in Carpentersville, Illinois. The Chicago youth saints
are very grateful to all the saints who kindly brought in clothes to
donate. This has inspired the youth to continue to do more community
service activities in the future. Goodwill Industries was very
thankful to all the donations by the saints and are excited to include
the Sant Nirankari Mission in any future activities. The Sant
Nirankari Mission is a strong supporter of community service
activities and is well known in India for its blood donation camps
