God is like a sun and the energy is nothing but the rays coming from it.We cannot seperate sun and its rays. Sameway, energy is coming from God.

Here's a simple asnwer to your question
 
E=Mc(square)
 
where E=Energy, M=Mass and 'c' is the velocity of light.
 
By this formula, Einstein confirmed/proved that any object moving at ........ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass-energy_equivalence  .... not going to that details.
 
alternatively, energy can change form and have a mass equivalent...and vice versa....
 
anything that can change form cannot be God...
 
hence Energy cannot be God.
 
However, there is another important aspect to that which is called the GOD particle... This GOD particle (Higgs Boson) is what it looks like to be a step of human science closing to the formless source of energy...read about GOD particle.. however it is still not confirmed... a massive experiment was conducted recently which was criticised by many saying that it could create a black hole... i followed it till its actual date but am not aware of the results.. you might wanna check if that interests you.

Here's a question asked by a very good friend in office. Energy is also present everywhere. So why can't we call energy as GOD ?

Searching for a good expression using which we can explain the difference. These things have already been discussed that using energy one cannot explain birth and death, moreover one form of energy can be converted to another.  So this cannot be God.
