On the 25th of May, the Sant Nirankari Mission UK, will have over 60 representatives taking part in a charity run in Central London.
The BUPA 10K event will host thousands of runners worldwide and the Mission will be represented by devotees from every UK branch. In this great combined effort some saints will be travelling for up to 8 hours from as far as Scotland to take part in this community initiative.
This year, we are also hoping to raise funds for the Nirankari Advice Centre (NAC), an Advice Centre which has been blessed by both Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and now Baba Hardev Singh Ji to help members of the local Leicester community. The NAC is based within our Leicester bhawan and throughout the last 28 years has run some of the following initiatives which have been open to all members of the community:
- Luncheon club and food donations for the elderly
- Language classes helping those people who do not know English to learn the language and integrate into society
- Professional advice in areas such as immigration, job seeking, housing and benefits at no cost at all
- Numerous other services such as music classes, yoga classes, sports equipment and computer facilities for members of the local community
These services are helping to improve the lives of people and allowing the saints and volunteers of the Leicester congregation to serve their community selflessly.
