Aman Ji, The existence of nirankar in physical form is known as satguru. The satguru in physical form is always present in this world, i may or may not recognise him. Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Guru Nanak Dev, Jesus Christ are the known forms of nirankar. A satguru can hide his physical form from humans and make it impossible for us to recognise him as long as he wants to hibernate. So, to answer your question, the satguru was always present, it is just the fact that i know some forms and rest i do not. I can trace the journey of the divine light from Lord Ram to Baba Hardev Singh Ji from history/religious books. Baba Buta Singh Ji was bestowed with this divine knowledge by Bhai Sahib Kahan Singh Ji, after god realization, Baba Buta Singh Ji did not reveal this secret for 15 years. He met Baba Avtar Singh Ji and shared his divine knowledge with him, that is when the Nirankari Mission was founded. The divine power has been changing forms and at present Baba Hardev Singh Ji is the satguru of present time. The journey from Baba Avtar Singh Ji to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji to Baba Hardev Singh Ji can be easily connected as we have saints who were fortunate to serve the three masters at one time or another. The question of belonging to one family, well, it can be a coincidence or satguru's benevolence, all depends upon my own outlook. It is entirely upto the present satguru to choose his successor, who, where, when and how, i can try to answer these questions but i will just end up with mere speculations.
