Dhan Nirankar Santo,
One of the examples that I recall from Huzur's discourses was of the episode between Parshuram Ji and Lord Ram. As you are already aware of this scene where Parshuram Ji is expressing his anger after seeing the broken bow and how Lord Ram is reacting to this anger. If I remember right, Huzur was stressing on the importance of humility. He mentioned that "Even though we think we are following Lord Ram but we haven't yet actually understood Lord Ram's teachings. Someone was shouting at Lord Ram, but yet Lord Ram maintained his compose. He didn't respond by shouting back at Parshuram Ji. But in similar situations today, we hear often that you too have capacity of replying back in same tone, so why are you silent? If we think we are followers of Lord Ram, we should be following His life which was full of humility. Despite being capable of responding in similar tone, Lord Ram responded humbly."
Its likely that the translation above is not exact expression of what Huzur intended to convey. But I believe that I am able to share the gist with you, even though there might be some shortcomings in understanding or translation. Additionally, some of the discourses on SNM website contain messages like
If you have all the facilities, all the comforts of life, but you indulge in anger and backbiting and creating demoralization, this is no life.
You must learn to love so that you learn to live.
An angry person creates a hellish atmosphere whereas a peaceful and tranquil person gives happiness to the atmosphere. Even psychologists say that an angry man is more dangerous than even a mad man! So saints make man aware of all such virtues which he should adopt while living his life in the world.
I don't know if this directly addresses your query, but thanks for giving me an opportunity to revisit these guidelines and remind myself of whats more important :-)
Regards,
Sunil Sethi
