The Sun, the moon and the stars, all keep on appearing and disappearing day and night;
The fire, the earth and the water also keep on the moving all the time.
The air (Vayu), the living being (Jeeva) and the sky (Aakash) are not immortal, permanent and stable;
None of these elements can be equated with the eternal formless one-Nirankar.
God, who is beyond all attributes of form and colour and who is limitless;
Avtar says, He does not reveal Himself unless one meets the True Master.

Suraj chand sitare sare, nis din aode jande ne;
Agni dharti pani vi pae, hardam chakkar khane ne.
Vayu Jeev aakash koi vi, amar achal adol nahin;
Nirankar abinashi de tul, inhan chon koi tol nahin.
Jis da roop rang nahin koi, jis da paravar nahin;
Kahe Avtar bina gur bhete, denda ih deedar nahin.
