The scriptures enshrine time-tested prescriptions for spiritual ailments. One should, however, not forget that mere prescriptions or precautions cannot cure a patient.
Nor can mere praise of the physician or his treatment be beneficial. To get cured, one must take the medicine & also abide by the instructions of the physician. Similarly, to get cured of spiritual ailments, we not only need a spiritual guide to dispense God-knowledge & truly interpret the scriptures, but also need to follow his teachings.
